Student Internship

Student Internship Program

The purpose of providing students with an internship in Pretrial Services is to contribute to their education and broaden the agency’s commitment to community involvement. A field placement with Pretrial Services offers students an opportunity to participate, without financial remuneration, in a practical learning experience relevant to classroom assignments. Under the supervision of a United States Pretrial Services Officer (PSO), students participate in activities which enable them to relate classroom theory to actual practice.

Field placements are offered in any of the three divisional offices (Columbus, Dayton, or Cincinnati). As an intern you will have the opportunity to:

  • Apply your academic experience to a real life setting.
  • Observe many facets of the criminal justice system.
